WHILE PERFORMING HIS DUTIES. MR. MILES WAS IN UNIFORM AND IN A CITY MARKED VEHICLE ENFORCING DOWNTOWN PARKING RULES. THE OFFICER IN QUESTION APPROACHED MR. MILES VEHICLE WHILE ISSUING A PARKING INFRACTION ON JUNE 30TH 2011 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:40 PM.... LOCATION WAS BETWEEN EAST 9TH & EAST 12TH STREETS AT WALNUT COURT IN DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND. MR. MILES SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES AS THE RESULT OF THIS CONFRONTATION. MR. MILES WAS ASKED TO PRODUCE IDENTIFICATION AND IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS A PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, BUT TO NO AVAIL AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY ASSAULTED, ARRESTED & DETAINED, HOSPITALIZED AND THEN RELEASED.
